CIA 2000 Ltd, we were approached by the team at Daisy Nook Garden Centre to address the outdated and malfunctioning CCTV system at a Manchester garden centre. The existing system was not only not worth repairing but also wasn't providing the level of security that the management team required for the site.
Project Objective:
The primary objective was to replace the obsolete CCTV system with a modern, reliable solution that would enhance security, monitor customer flow, and provide valuable insights for optimising shop displays.
Challenges & Solutions:
Challenges: The challenges included a malfunctioning and outdated CCTV system, inadequate coverage, and the need for a more efficient and streamlined surveillance solution.
Our Solution: CIA 2000 Ltd proposed the installation of a new CCTV system with cutting-edge technology. The centrepiece of the solution was the Hikvision PanoVu camera, strategically placed to cover the main entrance gate, entrance roadway, and the main building's parking area.
This camera offered a 360° viewing dome along with three fixed cameras in the same housing, all IP-based, requiring only a single cable for connectivity.
Installation:
Two PanoVu cameras were installed – one overlooking the main entrance gate and another pole-mounted with a Swan Neck mount for optimal coverage of the main building's parking areas and vehicle approach road.
Internal cameras were strategically placed to monitor customer flow within the garden centre, identifying "Hot Spots" to optimise shop displays. The installation ensured minimal disruption, and the IP-based cameras simplified the cabling structure.
